So today was my second day of school and I went to Spanish class for the first time (cause it's a block schedule). When I got there I noticed something a bit different...all the kids looked lazy, stupid, and like they should already be in the 11th grade. This is a class for 9th graders only. So everyone started talking, and I kept catching "dude, you failed again?!" and things like that..then the teacher came in and explained this was a "special" course for students that struggled with school last year. I had to transfer schools 4 times and just barely passed without having to go to summer school. My guidance counselor just said I was going to be taking Spanish, not that.
I wanted to immediately ask her to go back down to the guidance office to change my schedule (I wasn't going to stay there!) until she explained that there will be no homework and we're just doing some vocabulary and learning a little bit of the culture. I thought that would be alright, as long as I earned a credit for taking the course.
...That is, until we started to get to "know each other". I'm not judging, but there were like 5 students (out of 15) who were 16 and over, one 14 year old that was pregnant, and another that just had a miscarriage...she was also very rude to everyone and said the word "b*tch" in every sentence. Her dad is also in jail, which she openly shares with everyone, I guess. Once again, I'm not judging, but she's a person I wouldn't want to cross paths with.
The rest are just plain stupid and can't seem to function properly...most of them have been in my school for 4 years, and it's only 8th and 9th grade.
It's just NOT the class I need to be in. I'm much smarter than that and I don't want to be around them. I'm thinking of going to the guidance office to change my schedule so I can take German, but I don't know if it's already too late. I took a semester of it in 7th grade, but I'm still not sure if I can take it.
On the other hand, I can stay in Spanish and suffer.
What should I do?! :(
