  1. Trot him over ground poles or cavelettes before jumping to teach him to carry his feet higher. Also try schooling him over jumps that have something like a saddle pad over them. It may look scary to him and encourage him to jump higher.

  2. you probably lean at the last second. sit back and wait for the jump.

  3. You will want to do alot of flat work.

Start of by walking, trotting, cantering over poles or cavalties.

-----Then, raise one side of them about 7-9 inches off the ground. This will help London learn to pick his feet up.

After you do ground work for a bit start off my jumping low x's.

Set up and X's that centers 12 in. off the ground.  Place a ground rail about a foot in front.

-------About 12 ft. before the jump  place poles down. And then 3 ft before that and then another 3 ft. before that.

Trot through this. Then change the poles so you can canter over them.

One reason why your horse might chiping in is in that because you might be to far over the saddle putting your weight over his shoulders making it hard for him to lift his body over the jump.

  4. Try setting placement poles in front of jumps, and trotting the jumps with the poles there. It teaches your horse when to take off, and to get even strides to the fence.

  5. make sure you count out the strides before the fence three two one

and many put down canter poles?

make sure you keep a real consistant pace and dont catch your horse in the mouth
