I have a total of two cars. my ex and I broke up. I was nice enough to let her borrow the car until she get back on her feet and find a job. I make all the payments on the car because everything is in my name. She decided not to give the car back and move to another state. I have no idea what to do from this point on. does any one have a clue or has been in this situation before?

  1. It's a stolen car, but your insurance won't cover it, because you gave it to her.

  2. Call the cops, thats theft. Also let your insurance company know right now, so you don't end up holding the bag if she decides to get REALLY stupid.

  3. The car's in your name? That's theft. I'd call the police right away.

  4. Two choices; report it stolen (she took the car out of state, without your approval) or call Judge Judy!

  5. I agree with the guy who said to just go and take it back. If you have the key, you can just drop in and get it in the middle of the night. You could also go there with the police and let them handle the situation. She may be extremely cooperative if you offer to not press charges for the theft.

  6. first I should ask, your "ex"...wife?  if so & the car was community property yada yada yada, answer might be different, might complicate things.

yeah, she stole it.  If you have a key and can find it, might be less of a hassle to just go get it when she's not looking.

Best do it now...she probably can't sell it without a title but she can sure as heck wreck it.

  7. You could report it stolen and where you think it is.if you have a key you can just go get it anshe cant do anything bout it. or just take her to small claims court and get your car back.

  8. The car's not stolen.

She had permission to use it.  The cops will be asking.

Sorry pal, you are going to have to take the car back yourself.

    ROAD TRIP!
