  1. It's simple math really. Length x width = area. Sheet rock comes in various sizes like 4x8', 4x10', 4x12', and also in 54" widths. Just divide your total area in square feet by the area of the sheets you will be using. Of course you'll have to allow for waste, that's unavoidable.




  2. depends on what size U buy 4x8  =3sheets for a 12 ft. wall if your ceilg are 8 ft high if thety are higher than 8 ft you nssd to peice it in or buy 4x10 or 4x12's My husband who is a contractor  Hangs it horzontally to cut down on the amount of taping to do  and usually uses 4x12' sheets
