  1. Try not to stress so much over the test to give your mind more time to relax.  Next, study more on the subjects you are going to be tested over.  Then try and do a few practice test to see how well you do on it to see where your weak areas are and then you go from there.  Good luck on all of the tests.  I have already been through all of that and it was so stressful.  If I could go back and redo it, I wouldn't have stressed so much on it.

  2. First of all your score is only composed of the CR, Math and Writing scores which is 1420 in your case.

The best and easiest way to prepare is to buy a SAT review book (any of the more well known ones should be fun) and actually do/read the review and DO THE PRACTICE TESTS. There's not much else you can do besides review and study, and sometimes that doesn't even help. It's a reasoning test, so it can't all be accomplished by studying.

  3. First off, it's so very feasible to raise 200 points, in fact even 500. Think about it, you have the whole entire (2 months) of summer left of you. Reading, just memorize tons of words. It's a pain in the *** but if you want it bad enough you will go through the pain of memorizing words. You should average 50 words a and continue to review them. Also, for math, Math I believe is all about practice. I think everyone who has taken up to Advanced Algebra should recieve at least a 700 if they truly put all the effort into their studying for the SAT Math. However, it will take time. Be patient.

  4. A lot of taking the SATs is about technique. Just relax and give every question as much thought as you can. Don't second guess yourself. There's usually plenty of time at the end to go back and check the questions you're not sure of.

It also helps to memorize vocabulary words like crazy, do lots of math problems of the type you'll find on the test, and take lots of practice tests.  There's no substitute for going into the test prepared and not nervous.

  5. go to www.collegeboard.com

sign up there & they'll give you sample SAT questions to study, also you can go to your local library, barnes & nobles, or another local bookstore, even walmart carries them, they sell books for each of the subjects! hope they help =)
