  1. if you sync to the new computer all the music you have accumulated will be erased.  Use tune ranger to transfer everything on your ipod to the new itunes

  2. just download itunes and sync it on the new computer.  each ipod is allowed up to 3 computers to sync them on.

just MAKE SURE you set your settings on your ipod to manually manage your music/videos.  you HAVE to do this on the first computer where all of your current music is stored.  otherwise when you plug it up to the new laptop it will automatically sync and erase all of the songs that aren't on the computer.

to do this click on your ipod in itunes.  on the first screen with all of the info there are 3 check boxes at the bottom.  one of them says manually manage music/videos.  check that one and you're good to go.

i have my ipod synced to two computers, my work and home.  the first time i did it all of my home computer songs got erased at work.  now i can go back and forth with no problem.
