  1. HOLY c**p! LOL Sorry but when I downloaded vista in my computer (it was ultimate) I had 512 MB of RAM and I only used 80% of that while playing my games. Im very surprised that your computer is have this problem. All I can think of is your computer is running something BIG. You might not see in in you icon thingy in the bottom right corner of you screen so u need to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and go to Processes. Find the process that is taking up most of the CPU. Once you have found it, google it. DO NOT end the process because it can be something needed to run your computer properly. The name of the process is under "Image Name". If that process is not an important process that you can click on it to highlight it and click on the button "End Process" at the bottom right of the Windows Task Manager box.

If that does not work then I don't know whats wrong and Im sorry I could help resolve your problem.

Let me know how things work out. Bye.

  2. You have to think of Vista memory usage differently to XP. Vista manages memory differently (and better) then XP. Vista uses Superfetch. Basically it learns what programs you use regularly and then "preloads" them into memory at startup. Thats why you should wait a couple of minutes after startup to let everything load. So when you open an application or game it is more responsive. Vista takes the attitude that "Spare" memory is "wasted" memory. If you then go to play a game that uses a lot of memory, it then dumps everything to the pagefile to free up your ram to do what you need to do. If you think you need more respoonsiveness you can use a 2GB usb flash drive to speed up your system some more.
