HOW DO i GET SPARK TO NO. 1 CYLINDER ON A 35HP EVINRUDE OUTBOARD MOTOR?

i GET A STRONG FIRE ON NO . 2 CYLINDER.

THE rectifier has one broken wire Will that cause the problem?

the ectifier will NOT affect the ign system it is really easy to diagnose this problem but PLEASE give model# and year you could have one of three ign systems

Most likely.  If it's just a separated wire, put a jumper wire between ends & see if that gives you spark to # 1 cylinder.  Why not just splice broken wire ??
