HOW FAR FROM HOUSE SHOULD I PLANT mahogany tree??

i have a small tree I would like to plant it close to house for shade. I'm worried about root system of tree. Are they aggresive? will the root system destroy my plumbing.?? thanks

    lovely tree, but not for close to a home.... plant it somewhere that you can enjoy watching it grow (they're close to extinct, you know) but choose another for near the house... there's a good list here of native FLA trees...

  3. You don't say what part of the world you are in? In Central and South America, Mahogany trees grow to great heights, which means they have very large root systems. Farther away from the house to save the foundation. 20/30 feet and it will shade you soon,if you planet it between the house and the afternoon sun.
