    Hydro electricity uses the power of flowing or falling water to generate electricity. The source of water comes from river or  water falls. The advantage of using water as a source of energy is because it is renewable. Once a dam is built to create a flow of water, water will always be available. It can't be used up or polluted. This is how water is generated;

    - Water from a river is turned aside and a lake is created by building a huge water dam.

    -Then water is allowed to fall from the lake behind the dam into the power plant.

    -this water is then directed to several turbines with blades that are pushed by the force of the water.

    -As the turbine spins , it turns a metal shaft connected to an electric generator, which is basically a motor that produces electricity.
