The reasons you listed are excuses not problems.

Every aspect of illegally entering the US is a choice. The same goes for overstaying a visa. Sooner or later it all comes back to bite you on the rear end.

I have read that about 40% of illegal aliens in the USA came here legally, but stayed after their visas expired. Since there are  at least 20 million illegal aliens in the USA, that would mean that there are at least 8 million people who have overstayed their visas.
