HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE you ANSWER THE PHONE?

Depends on how long it takes me to get to the phone! If it is next to me though about 2/3. My new house phone doesnt ring though it has a ringtone and it is bloody annoying!

2nd ring, or once caller id kicks in, prob 5 rings if im away from phone. quite weird tho, if  i'm rite next to the phone, i'll wait for it to ring a second time b4 answering. It's a subconscious thing, and the caller normally expects it.

I wait for caller ID to show up, and then I either answer right away or let it go through to voicemail.

Depends who is on the line... if its my family i'll answer after 2 rings and if its someone who are just a waste of time i will wait after 5 rings or probably never pick it up x

In business it is generally agreed that it should be answered within 3 rings.  At home it should be answered when it is convenient for you.

I never pick-up the phone......I look first at the caller ID!

but, I do like to look, because I'm nosy, and wanna know who its calling!!

I dont answer mine at all cos I get to many nuisance calls known as cold calls where I live and most  people I know ring my mobile anyway.  Although as I have a good deal on my landline I wait till my friends call me and then I will ring them back as my landline to other landlines is free. Hence the reason the volume on my ring is very quiet.

Actually the mobiles are getting pretty reasonable now so if it wasnt for the computer then I wouldnt need a land line.

I unplugged mine 6 months ago.  Its the best decision I ever made. I've not made a call since.
