HOW MUCH VIDEO TIME does a 512 mb card get you on a video camera?

any info would be great...1hr worth of video, or 30 mins...etc, etc..thanks! I know it does depend on settings too.

most digital still cameras use MPEG1 for the movie mode. this is the same as VCD. you should get at least 1 hour total time. however, some still cameras can not stream continuously to memory. they capture the video sequence to an internal solidstate memory buffer. it that case, the maximum record time for a given shot may be limited to under a minute.
