Take the left pedal off. Loosen the lock-nut  on the left side, slide the lock-nut off. The cone should have grooves in it. If you don't have the special cone wrench, put the end of a flat-head screwdriver in the groove at a 45 degree angle, and tap the end of the screwdriver with a hammer.

Make sure you have a rag or paper towels to put the bearings on, or else you will make a greasy mess.
