  1. You can call your doctor and ask them or talk to your pharmicist.  You might be okay, but it's always good to check with your doctor, plus a phone call isn't going to cost you anything, piece of mind is priceless.  Don't necessarily go by your period because starting birth control can always mess with it and it will make you move nervous.

  2. If I remember correctly DEPO PROVERA was banned in the U.S. in the early 70’s due to the increase of thalidomide babies being born.  A U.S. based company received licensing to distribute the product to India as birth control but the same instances of malformation continued.  I’m not trying to scare you but that was the last I heard of the drug and its use.  I believe 60 minutes did an investigative report on the matter.

  3. Depo provera is 97-99.7% effective against preventing pregnancy. Most likely, you aren't. But I have heard of people getting pregnant with it. Also, it doesn't protect against STD's, so if you are having s*x with multiple partners, you're best bet would be to use a condom as well. And if you want to make sure you definitely don't get pregnant, use a condom anyway. The only 100% effective form of birth control is abstinence, but if you don't want to get pregnant but want to have s*x, use both a chemical and barrier method.

And btw, depo prevera is completely legal in the U.S. There was nothing about it being banned.

  4. don't worry ur fine....its the first 7 days you have to worry about
