HOW TO CONTROL CRIME IN Trinidad & Tobago?

After jamaica Trinidad is Caitol of crime in carribbean No wonder the crime situation is the way it is. Criminals who commit gruesome crime in the broad view of so many witness is now walking free to commit even more heinous crimes. The Criminal Justice Systenm is sending the message to these crimininals that they can commit a crime and walk away from the courts a free person. When the police take care of these criminals with equal force they are being criticized for doing their jobs. How can we get anywhere with such a system?

i agree with u that the justice system is to blame.

but secondly after that we also have ourselves to look at.

apart from kidnappings, and robberies, im sure each and everyone of us either know see other acts of injustice being taking place.

we see someone by the corner we know is selling "drugs"

the piper that jus 'thief" the green mango off our neighbour tree

sometimes i think we fail to realize that these are crimes as well, wether its petty or not..

but on the other hand.......

our police system needs a serious boost. deinquent police officers need to be weeded out of the  service and i really think that the requirements to be an officer needs to be raised in an effort to avoid careless ppl in the service.

imagine this, my boyfriend was robbed outside our business last year. immediately after we called the station which is 5 mins away it took them bout 45 mins to reach, we saw the lisense plate number of the car and gave it to them and knew exactly where the car went!!!!! yet up to today no word from anybody and we are still coming to terms of wat happend,,,,

also my brother was in a serious car accident on December 27th and only yesterday the police officer came to take the report!!!

its time our national security minister steps up and does something bout this, but for now we can only look out for eachother and ourselves and focus on the positive side on what our battered but still beautiful country has to offer...
