  1. The fastest recorded speed of an F1 car was about 400Km/h at Bonneville Salt Flats done in a race legal 2006 spec Honda F1 car. Maybe another manufacturer could have gone faster (McLaren, Ferrari, BMW) but they didn't bother.

  2. Slick tyres! Roll on 2009.

I would say a 3 litre v10 engine, a turbo, launch control, traction control, ground effects but they have all been banned.

  3. Well, I guess the easy way would be to allow complete aerodynamic freedom to the designers and give them bigger more powerful engines. Slicks and ground effects would help to increase cornering speeds.

Oh, and to bazzlit, the Honda to which you refer wasn't race legal. It contained moveable aerodynamic components to aid it's stability. These aren't permitted by the FIA.

  4. by increasing its horsepower.

  5. Take Off The Wings and drive it naked. it works. ive done it. :)

also try streamlining it by taking off the steering wheel

  6. Turbo engine, ground effect, bigger wings, wheel covers, RAM effect, special fuels, lower minimum weight, wider tires, slicks, active suspension, movable aerodynamic aids, active steering.

  7. Put covers over the wheels, take of the wings and ignore all of the bloody FIA rules.

  8. p**a powerful v1w and turbo in it just like the old days
