I AM A 48 YEAR OLD WOMAN THAT HAS BEEN STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY SINCE MY DIVORCE 5 YEARS AGO. I HAVE ALWAYS MANAGED TO GET BY LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK.I LEFT MY SECURE BUT LOW PAYING JOB FOR HIGHER PAYING ONE IN A NEW FIELD THAT I GOT BY KNOWING SOMEONE. I GOT FIRED AFTER A MONTH BECAUSE I SPOKE UP ABOUT THE MISERABLE WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIORMENT. I HAVE NO COLLEGE EDUCATION, AND AM FINDING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LAND A JOB.I AM GOING TO LOOSE MY APARTMENT AND MY CAR SOON WITHOUT PAYMENT TO THEM. I HAVE A SMALL DOG AND A SHELTER WILL NOT CONSIDER ME. I AM PREPARING TO LIVE ON THE STREETS SOON BECAUSE I HAVE NO FAMILY TO HELP AND EVERY PUBLIC ORGANIZATION KEEP TURNING ME DOWN TO LACK OF FUNDS,MY QUESTION IS,HOW CAN A HOMLESS PERSON STAY SAFE ON THE STREETS?

  1. You only need a little bit of "stuff" to make this work.  You will need a box that will shade you.  A refrigerator box is best.  Behind an appliance store.  A sleeping bag if you can get one.  A backpack so you don't look like a bag-lady with a shopping cart.  Spend a lot of time in parks. Stay clean and you can eat leftover food at restaurants and cafe's.  It won't kill you.  Get one container that holds lots of water. /

  2. Stay encouraged, pray (God hears every one at all times no matter where you are), look to him for guidance in your life, and try to avoid homelessness.  It is not safe.  Go to your local unemployment agency and explain to them that you need a job a.s.a.p.  In my experience lately, it is the non-college educated folks that are getting jobs and not me...

So remember that it is not in your hands but God's, and try not to feel sorry for yourself but get out there and do something about it!  You will feel like a much stronger, capable woman once you make your own future happen. :)  Best wishes to you.
