  1. There's not much worse than the stench that comes from a pair of stinky sneakers. Don't throw the sneakers away; clean them and power out the odors so they smell fresh. Removing the smell from a pair of sneakers takes time, so start the task when you have a few days when you won't need the sneakers.

    Things You’ll Need:

    Baking soda

    Shoe cleanser

    Shoe deodorizer

    Step1

Pour baking soda into each of the sneakers. Tap the heel of the shoe to spread the baking soda into the toe. Cover the entire foot bed of the shoe with about 1/4-inch of baking soda.

    Step2

Set the shoes in an area where they will be undisturbed for 24 hours or more. Let extremely smelly shoes set for longer.

    Step3

Vacuum the soda out of the sneakers using the hose attachment to the vacuum cleaner. Take a tentative whiff of each shoe. Add more baking soda and let the shoes set for 24 more hours if they are still smelly.

    Step4

Remove the baking soda and wash the sneakers. Use a solution made for cleaning sneakers, such as Sof Sole. Follow the manufacturer instructions for the cleanser that you choose.

    Step5

Let the sneakers completely air dry. Put the sneakers in the dryer when you are not concerned about a small amount of shrinkage. Verify that each shoe is completely dry.

    Step6

Spray the inside of each shoe with a shoe deodorizer, such as Penguin shoe deodorizer. Use extra-strength Febreeze in place of a shoe deodorizer. Let the deodorizer dry completely before wearing the shoes.

    Step7

Throw the sneakers out if they are still stinky.

  2. well the best answer i can give you for that is baking soda. make sure they are dry and pour it in the shoes let it sit over night, that should help . good luck

  3. I normally just throw them in the washer and they do come clean inside and out, if they're white make sure you use bleach, and little fabric softner in the water will give them a great smell. Let them air dry, do not put in dryer.
