HOW can someone EXPLOIT you unless you LET them?

Question

Women complain about being exploited by men. But don't those women CHOOSE to be exploited?

Why can't they work in an office instead of posing in a magazine? Or work at McDonalds instead of a strip club?

The money may be tempting BUT that doesn't make the men any more WRONG than the women who take the money.

So how can you complain about exploitation?

the sexploitation i think you are talking about is about how society sexualizes girls from early on...pisses me off when I'm watching a dance show and the women are wearing basically bathing suits..and the guys are wearing tuxedos

I don't complain about being exploited by men.  No-one can dominate you without your permission.  Now unequal laws, that's another thing :-)

You are absolutely correct.  No one can hurt you, exploit you or objectify you unless you give them the power to do so...

the very act of consent when an individual is properly informed and has other reasonable options negates any claim of exploitation.  

you've used a poor example, there are plenty of people on this planet being exploited.  consider if you will the women and children making shoes over seas.  they are unfairly paid, but have no other option.

Your rant addresses an individual's choice and relates it to the whole s*x industry - being exploited by the s*x industry is all inclusive - it's about the exploitation of ALL women by objectifying them - which includes individuals who choose to enter this field.

We're generally talking about teenage girls. Teenagers = still children.

Children are easy to exploit. They are missing the experience and the judgment to foresee consequences, and are very easily manipulated by adults.

As long as you're talking about the workplace, it's very possible for ANYONE to be unfairly exploited. They need to keep their job in these tough economic times, so they allow themselves to be treated badly. You're right about the gal posing in a magazine or workin the strip bar, ......no one's exploiting her. She's doin just fine. Don't believe me? Imagine a man in the same situation. No one's callin him a "victim."

I don't complain that I am exploited by men, I do however think that some men would like to exploit girls and some girls are stupid enough to fall into this trap.

Exploitation has nothing specifically to do with gender or with the s*x industry, it can happen to all sorts of people in all walks of life.
