HOW do actors remember all those lines?

i know about method acting or have heard,,but do they film in short burst ?..do people hold up cards for them..it seems so seemless....the conversations they have..in movies....even on stage ..i mean how can they train there mind to keep all the lines organized.....in there minds...or while doing a action scene..or music..thing..really interested to know some tricks they use just to understand,,thanks....p.s im not a actor or anything but really would like too have lots insight ..so i can appreciate ..what i enjoy at cinema even more ,,i know it is a incredible art....we are just so used tomit looking natural.....we forget..its a...:"act"..lol

  1. I still remember the lines I had in shows I did in elementary school. But that's probably just because I have aural memory and can recite an entire show I've seen. Namely Wicked the musical, which I saw for the second time last night. Also, ad libbing is definitely used at times.

  3. For me, it's like talking or breathing, i'm acting so it's cool how i know what to say before i say..If you get what i'm saying?

    So idk  how I remember I just do...it's just one of those things.

  5. What makes the memorization easier is to understand the motivation for the statement. That way, should the actor forget the line, he/she

    can say something similar, while still being true to the character and plot development.

    Of course, while motivation is key, practice/rehearsal are key.
