  1. I agree with Gwen...also, I think this baby pigeon should be released into the "wild" once it is able to fly. It's not very nice to try to cage wild animals...

  2. you should try to keep the dog and the bird as far away from each other as possible

  3. what type of dog do you have? that is important some dogs are breed for chasing/catching birds.

  4. Keep the bird somewhere the dog can't get to it. What kind of a dog is it? Some dogs are better at learning this sort of thing than others... some dogs have too high of a prey drive to be good around other animals, or even small children. Instead of trying to make them get along, which could lead to disaster if the dog suddenly reverts to its old behavior and tries to eat the bird once you've let your guard down, let your ideal go and do the responsible, safe thing for both your pets: keep the bird in a safe place, ie. its cage, or when you take it out either keep it in a room behind a closed door, where the dog can't get in and go after it, or keep the dog in a room behind a closed door. If the dog still tries to get to the bird through its cage, keep the cage in a room the dog isn't allowed in.

  5. you need to keep introducing them slowley and your dog will adjust. you need to also tell your dog that this baby bird is a good thing and not to hurt it (sounds a tad absurd but it works!). your dog will finally understand that the baby bird is a good thing and is part of the family. if it keep happening just keep them away from each other.

  6. Separate them...problem solved!
