HOW does the american SCHOOLS AND AGES WORK ?

i dont understand the things like middleschool and kindergarden.

I just hear that stuff on tv.

we have three main schools that you will have to switch between as you get older.

You start out in Elementary school.

Grades K(kindergarten)- 5

Then You Go to Middle School,aka,junior high school.

Usually grades 6-8

Then you go to your last school.High School,or Senior High School

Grades 9-12.

After grade 12,you go off to college.

You start middle school (or Junior High) when you are 12, turning 13, and stay for 2  years. Each year is a new grade. Elementary school is grades 1-6, middle school is grades 7 & 8, and High School starts when you're 14 turning 15, and is grades 9-12. Confusing?? Yes.

lol well unfortunately it depends on where you live. some do elementary school ages 5 to 11 [gradesk-5] or 5 to 12 [grades k-6] and some middle schools are grades 6-8 or 7-9 so i would ask someone with kids near you to see how it works where you live. im from richmond, virginia and my school started at age 5 and it will end at age 18 and kindergarten is like preschool you could probably look on wikipeidia for a better answer
