  1. Probably not.  You could invest a little bit of money in a VCR.  It's cheap, you can record your television shows, but yes, it's a pain compared to DVRs.

If your dorm doesn't allow for you to have DVRs, that would probably be the only option.  However, very recently, almost every major station (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) providess their prime-time shows available at any time.  So really, you shouldn't have to tape shows.

It's a new technological world out there.  Ask your college for advice, and push for the best availability to technology possible.

  2. you should first look into your options for television at school and see if you'll have any choices in the matter.  you should be able to ask the dormitory about these options, including those available for any dvr programs.

incidentally,  you just might have to cut down on your T.V. intake if you intend to have enough hours of study time to actually pass your classes with grades that will get you a good job or into a good graduate school. Being a "C" average student is really not going to cut it.

good luck with your studies and have fun with school

believe it or not, but a big part of the on campus college experience is having a communal space where you watch tv...

  3. Get off your fat *** and live life without a TV!!!

This is why America is so overweight that soon we as a country will tip the Earth off its axis and destroy us all

  4. You won't have time for T.V.

  5. Carry along your DVR and your Tele heckthrow in a Wii or and X-box . But if you are going off to college, wont tv distract you from studying?

  6. The only solution I can think of is to take your tv and dvr with you. If you can't take your dvr you can probably just purchase a TiVo.

  7. Hope your roommate has a DVR or the Lobby TV has one.  One idea is to have your closest friend throw you a going away to college party and be sure to have a registry at Target or something like that and be sure to have DVR and TV on the list.  Good luck..

  8. I was able to get digital cable at my dorm with a DVR and be billed separately from what the school was paying for me, so it can be done. You could buy your own TiVo and service and I belive it should work if you get cable where you're going to live. Otherwise, I'd actually recommend getting a TV tuner for your computer and using that as a DVR if need be.

And everyone saying that "YOU WON'T HAVE TIME FOR TV BECAUSE YOU'LL BE STUDYING ALL THE TIME"...ever heard of relaxing and taking a break, a******s?

  9. Tivo...which is a DVR

Or you can wait til the season's over and get  the entire season from Netflix.

Or...Many shows can be watched online immediately after being aired.

Bet you'll be too busy with classes and homework to watch tv much anyways...lol.

  10. Don't bring your DVR. That'll get stolen. Just do what everyone else does and download it.

  11. well i guess thats a sign no TV and all studying♥

  12. bring your DVR with u and a tv -.-

  13. you're lucky...there was no such thing as dvr when i was in college! no idea...but good luck.

  14. Nope , your screwed. Might as well just study!

  15. Sweetie, you will be FAAAR too busy at college to worry about your dvr.  Honestly!  Between social events, and football games and parties, and, yeah, I spent a couple of hours studying, but you won't have time to watch tv.  There probably isn't cable to the rooms, anyway.  There's usually a community set in the dorms, sometimes one on each floor, and you watch whatever everyone votes to watch.

Or you go out with your friends.ç

    Or you join a sorority.

    Or you study.

  16. hahahaha!

trust me, TV is the LAST thing you will be concerned with at college.

Studying for tests, homework, papers, dating, events, friends, parties...

I don't even remember watching TV when I was away at school.

  17. go on lime wire and download all your fav. shows! or you could work for $25 and buy a mini tv!

  18. most college dorms have cable tv...

    other options available

download them from the internet over you campus internet

have your parents record everything and watch it all over the summer

or just give up and realize that  you wont have time for tv in college

  19. Bring your tv and dvr.  Get cable.

  20. your a dumba$$ your goling to college to learn not watch tv get over " boo hoo  i can't watch tv, boo hooo, can some one change my diaper" grow up get your education the get a job then buy a tivo
