  1. PMS is everywhere... some cultures just don't complain about it.

  2. Lies and deception. In many male dominated cultures, they simply ignore it and refuse to acknowledge it exists. From what I have seen, PMS is not that dominating. Many of the women I know have shown few if any signs of PMS.

  3. Which cultures are you referring to?

  4. diet

  5. PMS is all in your head

i am Mexican but born here and there is a big difference in the cultures when it comes to PMS

we don't care about that stuff

  6. Because women in other countries know their role.  They are not all high and mighty like in America.  Take Europe for example...their women do all the cooking and cleaning no questions asked.  Women in leadership positions, and doing unnatural things (for them) such as driving and stuff will lead to PMS.

  7. Some people are just pissed off all of the time.

  8. Because many other cultures aren't like America in which we diagnose everyone with a similar "default" and give medications to treat it to enhance money growth and profit.

  9. Considering that during the week before a woman's period, her hormone levels drop off so that they become more like a man's. So, why was the term invented in the 1980s? How come women before that time didn't have "problems" with it?

Another reason for the lack of PMS in some cultures is that the women are always either pregnant or nursing so they seldom or never have periods. These countries also suffer from high infant mortality rates and overpopulation. Do you really think those conditions really need to be emulated in industrialized countries?

  10. keep shouting  non existence of PMS in some cultures..

  11. its a man-made western notion as part of the whole wanting to be a separate entity from the rest thing and trying to appear more interesting and giving western women another idea to believe in about themselves

  12. Its not real at all, its all in your head ladies!

This is gonna get me some serious thumbs downs :-)

  13. Diet and culture. PMS didn't exist in the US until recently - women were told that the cramps that they felt were not real and all in their heads.

Edit - Old Man Winter is funny - Must have never heard of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II, Angela Merkel, Margaret Thatcher, Mary McAleese...etc... Maybe you should read a bit more sweetie.

  14. In what cultures do women not have PMS?

  15. What culture?

  16. I believe that PMS is really more of a state of mind then anything else. I mean yeah you can have some bad days because of your period but you are in charge of your mood so you can say you know what I am not going to be that way and not be that way. So I think people choose to have PMS.

  17. Lots of things, stress, diet, sleep habits. Also just because it is so common here, and so talked about doesnt mean that women in other countries dont suffer from it.

  18. PMS is a hormone related problem. Symptoms are worsened by imbalanced hormones.  The typical poor American diet contributes to hormonal imbalance. Pesticides, chemicals, and GMO foods alter our hormonal balance. For example, in the 70's a hormone was added to wheat in order to make it produce a stronger shaft, that same hormone today is in your wheat products and can wreak havoc on a hormonally sensitive person, say a woman with endometriosis or PCOS. Wheat is not often eaten in Asian cultures, just as an example, but this is just one thing. There are also many estrogenic foods which raise estrogen when eating in certain quantities or by estrogen sensitive people, that are not eaten in other cultures. PMS symptoms are often decreased by eating a plant based diet, which may be more prevalent in other cultures. Also, in certain cultures they may have less stress or simply different kinds of stress, different than the kind that Americans have that exacerbates PMS. There are hormones in non-organic dairy products that also can increase PMS. So the long and the short is that I second the first answer you got, it's mainly about diet.

  19. women in america have to much time to worry about stupid nonsence like PMS and menstration lol, its all in your head ladies. My advice, quit whining about it and go clean the kitchen again!

  20. Americans like to complain

Some cultures would rather hide it

  21. I've never heard of PMS being non-existent in some cultures. You really should provide a source or two.

The only cause I can think of would be their diet.

  22. because in some cultures it is ok to beat your women, when they give you a reason, so If they started acting all PMSy that would get the fist of fury!

  23. different lifestyles, not using it as an excuse to be a right *****
