  1. It was after American blood was shed to free the Italians of the Fascist.

  2. He was being spied on by the British Secret Air Service.  When he went to his hotel to eat his dinner, the Brits shot him 33 times in the chest and head, severely wounding the fascist son of a *****.  Mussolini died in the hospital two days later of natural causes.  The Italians took his body and ripped all his limbs off to be eaten by the unfortunate residents of the new Italy.

  3. just like in good fashion they hung him vigilante style. guilty or not who cares, right? after all he deserved it. I hope we are learning from our past people. I sometimes wonder since we just did the samer dam thing with Sadam. Of course I am wrong like usual Sadam had a trial sorry for the mistake. Oh yes and we are winning the war on terror too. lmao keep dreaming people, keep on dreaming. PS who hung Sadam?think about that if you even have the brains to. geeeeeees

  4. little do people know that before his and his mistresses execution that they had bred an Evil Spawn of the Fascist Devil, like the Omen, only his name is George W. Bush~!!!!

he has infiltrated the American Government and is turning it inside out into an Evil Fascist Regime and the Warriors and The Bankers, and The Corporations have signed on with his Quest for a One World Fascist Order under his Rule~!!!

one day he may be hanging upside down along with Cheney right on Wallstreet~!!!

  5. I believe they hanged him, however, I don't think he had any choice, it was either join Hitler or be invaded like the rest of Europe. Like most Italians, Mussolini had dreams of grandiose, one of the examples is the Milan train station which is the tallest and stateliest

train station in the world at that time or maybe even today.

  6. The year was 1945.  Mussolini and his girl friend (mistress) were fleeing to the Northern border to escape the Italian resistance.  They were captured in Northern Italy, instantly tried and shot.  Their bodies were hung from timbers that were placed together to form a network whereby the bodies could be hung.  They were hung head down and kept there for quite a long time. The resistance took over Italy and by then the Americans and British had captured most of Italy from the Germans. The war in Europe was almost over.

  7. he was initially disposed by his own party and imprisoned. where upon Hitler launched a rescue mission, and put him in control of a puppet state in the part of Italy still under n**i control. during the final collapse of Germany, and Italy he was captured by Italian Partisans and beat him and his Mistress to death the were thin hung upside down as a show of disrespect.

  8. ok so mussolini was a total idiot. so the italians decided to get rid of him. he had made several atempts to escape Italy before but all of them failed and he always wound up almost getting killed. Finally in 1945 near Lake Como he and his mistress we stopped as they headed to switzerland to board a plane to escape to spain. they were brought to Mezzengra. the next day (April 25th) mussolini, his mistress and most of the people traveling with him were executed. On April 29 the bodies of mussolini and his mistress were hung upside down by meat hooks and stoned by civilians in Milan, he was then taken down several days later and buried in an unmarked grave only to be moved to a proper grave months later.

  9. Him and his mistress, Clara Petacci were trying to sneak over the Swiss border when they were caught by Italian partisans, not allied troops. They were killed, then hung upside down from a lamp post. Later they were cut down and chucked into the gutter where their bodies were spat upon and otherwise reviled.

  10. After the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943, the Italians wanted to get out of World War II.  Mussolini was called to meet with the Italian King, removed from power, and put in "protective custody."  The Italians hoped that the Allies would move north fast and occupy the country before the Germans could react, but the Germans moved faster, taking over most of Italy.  Mussolini was being kept in an isolated villa on a mountaintop under Italian guard, but an SS commando unit found him, captued the villa, and whisked him away.  Hitler gave his old ally charge of a puppet Italian facist state in Northern Italy (it was really under German control).  As German resistance in Italy began to collapse in the spring of 1945, Mussolini attempted to flee to Germany.  However, he was captured by Italian partisans and shot, along with his mistress who was with him.  The were hung by their heels in the town square.

  11. After they hung him & his mistress they cut off his balls and stuffed them in his mouth.   That's a fact, look it up.

I think every Columbus day one Senator or Congressman should be selected for the same treatment.

It sounds barbaric but I can guarentee you that corruption will drop off by %100.

  12. He wasn't actually incompetent; countries all over the world used his model and it seemed to be the coming thing until he changed sides and joined with Hitler.  It was the standard military coup and he was arrested and jailed.  German paratroupers rescued him and he formed a second government in northern (the part still under German control) Italy until the Germans could no longer protect him then a mob found and killed him and paraded his body around as a sort of trophy.

  13. I'm Italian and there is a huge fascism revival now in Italy. Berlusconi, the current prime minister, is taking over the judiciary power and allows himself ruling the country at his pleasure.

He convinced the Italians through the television that all the charges of frauds and briberies on him were untrue and therefore he blackmailed his own party by making them pass self-protecting laws against the judiciary and the Constitution. He realized this when he said he would have not passed any laws in the Congress unless they would have approved his own laws.

So, now Berlusconi owns legislative and judiciary powers, and aims for the executive by removing President Napolitano in the near future.

Meanwhile 90% of the mass media are owned by Berlusconi.

  14. ....Final Frontier and also Arwene are both right!!!

.....the Italian Resistance (aka. Mafioso)  captured he and gf, after they broke outta jail, with help from n***s....they were killed and their bodies were taken to Milan and hung upside down for public viewing, along with some of his henchmen

....then they were given the concrete shoes as part of the new foundation for the Tower in Pisa

  15. When the Allied forces began marching up Africa they were able to take Italy who then tried Mussolini and hung him and his misstress upside down and shot them in the middle of town square. BTW, Mussolini wasn't incompetent, he rallied many people to his cause and ultimately became the modern world's first true dictator.

  16. He was  trying to leave for Switzerland,  with his mistress.  He was discovered..& they were both executed,  and hung by their heels in a square in Milan  for public viewing .  You should be able to find a photo on-line.  He was called "ll Duce"

  17. In April 1945, just when Allied forces were closing on Milan, Mussolini and with his Mistress Clara Petacci were in the back of a truck, trying to make their way to freedom in Switzerland. Their vehicle was stopped by Italian Partisans. Both were captured and soon executed. Their bodies were taken to Milan and put on public display, strung up side by side and upside down. http://www.ahoy.tk-jk.net/ImagesJan20_20...

  18. They found him hiding in some carriage, then hung him for everyone to see and laugh...

It was 'cause Hitler had lost most of his power/influence, and since he was allied with Hitler obviously the English/US of A were after him too.

    Good riddance, I'll say.

  19. Hung him from a lamp post and later dragged his corpse through the streets. Personal self esteem is one thing, narcissistic arrogance soon engenders resentment and, later, hatred. Personally, I think it began in America with certain prize fighters. The nail that sticks up gets hammered down. Pride and arrogance are not generally considered virtues anymore, humility and gratitude have long been considered admirable virtues. Those days are over. The last of the arrogant politicians still control the U.S. Congress, but not for long. They brought it on themselves and us as well.

  20. In July 1943, Mussolini was deposed by King Victor Emmanuel, acting on the advice of the Grand Council of Fascism.  In September, 1943, the n***s reinstalled Mussolini in a puppet regime.  In April, 1945, as the end of the war approached, Mussolini and his mistress were on their way to Switzerland in an attempt to escape to Spain, when they were stopped by Communist partisans and shot to death.  Both of them were put on display by being hanged upside down in the public square.  It is reported that Hitler saw the newsreel coverage, realized that the same fate probably awaited him, and decided to commit suicide a day or two later.

Note:  The previous answerers who blame the United States or England for Mussolini's death need to read up on their history (a bit more confidence in your own country would be appropriate too).  Mussolini was killed either by Communists or on account of an uprising of the Italian people, depending on how the event is interpreted, who realized that, through his dreams of world conquest and alliance with Hitler, had brought them to ruin.

  21. The method they used to kill Mussolini escapes me, but they hung his dead body upside down in the Town Square for all to ponder over.

In our country, when Richard Nixon was disgraced, he goes home for awhile, then emerges as the "Grand Old Man of Politics," giving political advice to others of his party.

In a short time, we'll be able to see George W. Bush proudly presiding over the opening of the George Bush Sewage Department in San Francisco.

We don't go into public hangings for our officials.  It's easier to find the "lone nut" to do it, then botch the investigation into just who fired the shot, how many times it was fired, and what direction it came from.

  22. He was incompetent in the sense he wouldn't delegate or make timely decisions.  Hr was also ruthless--he had his son-in-law executed.

He was fleeing in a car w/ his mistress, it was stopped & they were taken from the car & hanged feet first after being shot.

  23. The fascist Mussolini had delusions of grandeur and his dream was to revive a Romain Empire. His alliance with Hitler was more of an opportunist move than a philosophical brotherhood. While the Germans were a disciplined people, ideal for Military life, the Italians were very undisciplined and hated the Military and Wars. He did make the trains run on time! Although he may have been antisemitic himself, the majority of the Italian people were not. As it became obvious that Germany was going to loose the war, the Italian people turned on him and surrendered to the Allies. He was executed along with his mistress by the Partisans and hung upside down for their body to be humiliated, an act of barbarism in my opinion.

  24. Unlike Franco,

the incompetent fascist Mussolini explicitly allied himself to Hitler and declared war on the Allies---the US included

(Hitler-I understand, reluctantly declared war on the US,

after the US declare war on Japan,

for attacking US at Pearl Harbor)?

    The Allies kicked Italian ***,

    whose hearts, I understand,

    weren't really into the war.

    The Italians, in turn,

turned on the incompetent fascist Mussolini,

whom was, I understand, at one point,

defended by German soldiers against many of those Italians.

(One thing I'll give to the Italians:

if their poor performance in War II was due to ambivalence, it was likely why they were spared the destruction of their more slavishly dog-like neighbors to the north).

  25. They did a more or less peaceful takeover and imprisoned him, switched sides to the Allied side, the Germans freed him and made him the leader of Italy in exile with control over the Italian troops who decided to stick with the Germans but in the en he was captured then hung and shot along with his mistress.

  26. I have to agree with "Dert H"

I only know what the history books teach...but I have lived long enough to see the truth twisted many times depending on the point of view of who is telling it.

The Winners Side" as Dert H. puts it.

I remember reading that Mussolini was hung and dragged through the streets...but I know no one that was there first hand, or close to the situation.

WE all should be careful of blindly believing in what is said until we have some historical evidence.

History is used for political gain sometimes....Who knows what will be written about the current events in our world...and from who's point of view?

  27. Mussolini and his mistress Clara petacci were executed and their bodies hung by the heels in a public square. He was not incompetent as you suggest, no leader can rise as high as he did and not have the ability to lead.Even Hitler did heroic deeds in ww1. Mussolini was removed from power by the Italian government when it became clear that Italy would lose the war. He was tried, and executed. The Italian people were good fighters, but didn't have the heart to struggle against the americans. Many american soldiers had emmigrated to america from Italy, and there was a kinship between the two countries. The Germans kept the war going there longer than the Italians wanted, and when Germany was forced to remove their troops from Italy, The Italians sued for peace. You should get a book from a library and read up on the different wars.

  28. They disposed of him rather violently.  He was hanged (not hung for you grammatically challenged folks) and then dragged out into the streets and chopped to pieces for lack of better expression.  And yes he was incompetent.  His handling of the African invasion was laughable and the French kicked his butt.

  29. The popular version is that they killed him after the allied troops captured the capitol.  Then the people strung him up in a public display of contempt.  Of course, that was during a time when the allied press was on the side of the allied troops.  It might have been the troops but nobody is talking.  The citizens doing it makes a better propaganda piece; however, it might have been as popular history has recorded it.

  30. Mussolini's body

On April 29, 1945, the bodies of Mussolini and his mistress were taken to the Piazzale Loreto (in Milan) and hung upside down on meathooks from the roof of a gas station, then stoned by civilians from below. This was done both to discourage any fascists from continuing the fight and as an act of revenge for the hanging of many partisans in the same place by Axis authorities. The corpse of the deposed leader became subject to ridicule and abuse.

After his death, and the display of his corpse in Milan, Mussolini was buried in an unmarked grave in Musocco, the municipal cemetery to the north of the city. On Easter Sunday 1946 his body was located and dug up by Domenico Leccisi and two other neo-Fascists. Making off with their hero, they left a message on the open grave: "Finally, O Duce, you are with us. We will cover you with roses, but the smell of your virtue will overpower the smell of those roses."

On the loose for months—and a cause of great anxiety to the new Italian democracy—the Duce's body was finally 'recaptured' in August, hidden in a small trunk at the Certosa di Pavia, just outside Milan. Two Fransciscan brothers were subsequently charged with concealing the corpse, though it was discovered on further investigation that it had been constantly on the move. Unsure what to do, the authorities held the remains in a kind of political limbo for 10 years, before agreeing to allow them to be re-interred at Predappio in Romagna, his birth place, after a campaign headed by Leccisi and the Movimento Sociale Italiano.

Leccisi, now a fascist deputy, went on to write his autobiography, With Mussolini Before and After Piazzale Loreto. Adone Zoli, the Prime Minister of the day, contacted Donna Rachele, the former dictator's widow, to tell her he was returning the remains, as he needed the support of the far-right in parliament, including Leccisi himself. In Predappio the dictator was buried in a crypt (the only posthumous honour granted to Mussolini). His tomb is flanked by marble fasces and a large idealised marble bust of himself sits above the tomb.

  31. actually, they did hang him, after lucky luciano of the italian cosanostra made a deal with the feds for immunity in the u.s. so he'd help destroy the fascist government with cosanostra connections, connections our government maintained through kennedy, the bay of pigs, and iran contra.
