HOw do you make homemade veggie burgers?

Please dont give me some site to go to....I can google that myself. I want a good recipe that someone has already tried and loves. Thanks.

  1. I like this recipe...it is quick and easy...Enjoy..

    Add Jalepenos if you like it hot..If your vegan then replace the egg with flax seed solution.

    1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed & drained

    1 cup rice, cooked

    1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

    1/4 cup frozen corn, thawed

    2 tablespoons salsa

    1 egg, beaten

    Directions

    1Mash beans.

    2Mix beans, rice, onion, corn,egg,and salsa.

    3Spray skillet with cooking spray & turn on heat to medium.

    4Spoon 1/2 cup mixture each into skillet and flatten to 1/2 inch thick.

    5Cook 4-5 minutes on each side.


  2. (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained,and rinsed

    1/2 cup rolled oat

    1/2 cup mushroom, finely chopped

    1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

    1 carrot, shredded

    1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped

    1 clove garlic, minced

    2 tablespoons tomato paste or ketchup

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    pepper, to taste

    Directions

    Throw all ingredients in food processor (or blender, if you dont have one).

    Pulse (or blend) until coarsely chopped.

    Chill mixture, then shape into four (4) 1/2-inch thick patties.

    Now you can wrap and freeze them for later.

    To cook, thaw patties in microwave, then broil 4-6 inches from heat for 10 to 15 minutes (or until warm in the middle).

    You can do this in your broiler or on the grill.

    Serve like you do your favorite meat patties



  3. Black Bean Burgers

    Ingredients (use vegan versions):

        1 large can black beans

        1/4 cup diced yellow onion

        1/4 cup diced red bell pepper

        1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

        1 egg substitute

        1 cup seasoned bread crumbs

        2 tablespoon fresh chopped cilantro

        2 tablespoon olive oil

        top w/ salsa, alfalfa sprouts, &/or guacamole

    Directions:

    Rinse black beans. In a large bowl, mash black beans then add onion, bell pepper, cayenne pepper, egg substitute, vegan bread crumbs and cilantro.  Blend until all ingredients are mixed well.  Form bean mixture into patties and place on a baking pan or cookie sheet (spray pan with non-stick spray).  Bake at 350 for 10 mins.  Or you can fry them in olive oil.  I recommend baking them.

    Serves: 6, Preparation time: 30

The most important thing in a veggie burger is the texture, it's easy to season them to taste good.  My favorite is mashed black beans with just enough breadcrumbs added to not be too sticky.  You can add almost any veggie, just dice it small, and avoid things that get too wet/mushy when cut up.

    I like them spicy, so i use lots of hot sauce.
