They go by what his contract was when he retired.  $12 mil this year, #13 mil next year, and $14 mil in 2010.

Farve's contract was for 12 million, but I don't think the jets have the cap room. If I heard right there will be some restructuring. You'll have to wait till that is figured out before the season starts.
