HP 5500 SERIES PRINTER PROBLEMS

MY PRINTER STATUS WINDOW INDICATES PRINTER OFFLINE. PRINTER IS HOWEVER CONNECTED TO POWER DISPLAYING GREEN LIGHT. I WOULD HOPE I PURCHASED UNDER GOOD FAITH AND THAT I WILL GET AN ANSWER AND NOT THE RUN AROUND. THANK FOR YOU TIME.
