HP DV6000 problem? Please help!?

I was checking my e-mail when my laptop suddenly made these popping noises and shut off. I tried to restart it and I could hear it booting but the screen wasn't responding. I took out the batter and unplugged the charger and let it sit for awhile. It works now but I still want to know what the problem is to avoid this in the future.....

I will say that its really hot today. And secondly, we had to replace the fans once already. I thought it was the fans again but as far as I can tell, they're still running.......

I'm on it as we speak and everything seems fine but obviously that wasn't a good sign. Can someone help me please?

Thanks (:

  2. The only popping noise I usually hear is when I plug the live AC cord to the AC adapter (brick). Pop is due to discharging capacitors. I can only suspect that the AC adapter was loosely connected. The sudden shutdown may have messed up CMOS data. Your first restart was not able to recover CMOS data that is why it did not even display POST. Your next startup may have activated auto CMOS recovery and loaded the fail-safe defaults.

Better run monitoring software (Speedfan, Core Temp, etc.) in the background so that you will be forewarned if there are abnormalities.
