I backup my files or my computer or w/e and the backup history was saved onto my D drive thats fine with me I rather do that than discs...well eventually the drive became full...I was unaware that you have to keep at least one previous backup for the new backup to go off of...well oops I accidently deleted all of them off the d drive to preserve memory on my computer....now my computer won't backup itself, it constantly says "backup failed', "because there were no previous backups", my computer at one time said if this happens that I need to do a 'complete backup", what does that mean and how do i do it step by step???, I know what a regular backup is and I know what backingup discs are too??? But I've been trying for a while how to do a "complete back up" ??????

help me please thanx....

oh yea i have a HP Pavillion dv9548us and I think I have Vista Home Premium or something like that.

  1. Depending on your backup software and its interface, you should be able to change the backup type to a full backup or run a full backup manually.

If you are using Windows Vista's built in backup, Open the Vista backup from the Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\. You can then simply click on the "Complete PC Backup" option. . Once you have a complete backup, you can create a new scheduled backup by clicking on the "Back Up Files" icon and following the on-screen instructions.

If you aren't using Vista's built in backup, you need post what you are using.
