I just got this laptop a week ago and have already been on tech support several times for this same issue. They don't seem to be able to find a permanent fix. I remove the battery, clear the capacitors, reinstall the BIOS and mouse drivers and that will get the touchpad working again for a little while, but it very quickly just stops working again. And by stops working, I mean nothing works. No buttons, no moving the mouse, no nothing. There is a on/off button for the touchpad, but that is in the on setting and doesn't seem to work when the touchpad's not working either. I've also read about a Function+F7 issue with Synaptec pads, but that doesn't seem to make a difference either. It's running Vista Home Premium 64. Any ideas?
