Good afternoon;
I do own one of the systems noted above. I've had a really hard time with HP over a while now, and the last time it went in for repair, it once again ceased to function normally.
'BootMGR is missing' - 'Roxio Creator won't load' - 'WLM won't load', and that sort of thing. I am running an XP Home Version on the system, and I did try the support online, as referred to by Roxio Creator: followed all of their instructions: Nothing. Next I tried Askville.com: received pretty much the same as from the CD Creator site: No Go. As well, I went to the HP Site, found the object of my search and followed it from there: Nothing.
Windows XP Disk here that my husband purchased for his system. Thought that was it? Sorry but no:
I have no idea in the world how to restore to factory and see if the system will take that and I don't lose all and sundry;
I have no idea in the world hot to do a destructive restore and reinstall.
My husband's disk is not the same key code, but I do have my own key code from the bottom of the system--I really don't care at the moment if I lose it all, but it would be nice to have some pics etc
When I have to enter the key Code, using my husband's CD (and I would prefer not to do this, I am wondering if I can just enter my own key code.
I would please need a detailed 'How To Take Out the Garbage' step by step. I know some things, unfortunately, this isn't one of them.
Everything else I tried, brought me to an 'A' prompt, I enterred all info as instructed, but 'does not recognize the command. As well as one error message that now informed me that it could read, 'can't find drivers for the hard drive.
I'm on my knees and praying now as the system I am using goes back tomorrow. The Iomega 500 GB appears not to be functional either. I don't get any lights when I add power to it. Now, everything is in there. Just a quick note here, my system has never been listed with the 't' on it, as well, I can't get online with that system.
