Question:

HP Pavillion laptop turns off after boot up?

My HP Pavillion will turn on after a random amount of clicks. It starts booting up and after the "HP" logo appears, it shuts off right afterward. It was turned off and unplugged for a week, and when I tried to turn it back on this started to happen. Any help?

  1. you may have had a virus or a trojen it sounds as though some off your drivers could have been uninstalled

  2. My first impression is that it is a heat issue, but I suspect that this is not the case.  I believe that your power adapter is not charging your battery, and you don't have enough charge to run the unit.  You can confirm this by removing the battery and seeing if the unit powers up and/or repeats the bad behavior.

Once you have the battery out, if it still does the same thing, I would take it to a repair shop.  It might be a bad stick of RAM, it might be issues with your hard drive, it might be one of a number of peripherals attached to the unit.

If you take the battery out, plug it in and get no power response, your power adapter port is bad and you still need to take it to a repair shop.

  3. dude your batteries are dead

  4. you should hit F8 while its booting to get into safe mode and then add remove programs and remove Microsoft service pack 3... or your battery is not charged.. and your A\C adapter is not working or plugged in
