HP Photosmart M425 Camera?

I lost my USB cable that enables me to upload pictures onto my computer. I have the SD card, but my computer doesn't have a slot for it. Where can I find *just* the USB cable? I've tried searching online and I keep getting results for the camera AND accessories. Don't need the camera again. Just the USB. Help ?

  1. I have one of the Photosmart cameras and it uses a standard mini-USB cable.

I looked at a picture of your model online and it does too.

You can get mini-USB cables at Walmart. If you want to order one online, you can do so at one of these places:

  2. By a card reader as fhotoace suggests.  They cost only about $10, and can be found at most stores that sell digital cameras.  You just put your memory card into the card reader, and then plug it into a USB port on your computer.  Much easier to use, and you won't be running down your camera batteries.

  3. Your best action is to buy a USB card reader.

It seems that you are not alone in losing the cable for connecting your camera to the USB port on your computer ... I have done a little research and it turns out that a USB cable from one camera is not necessarily the same as the one supplied by another.

If you still want to keep your camera in the loop (those of us who have been shooting digital cameras for a few years, don't do that anymore) you will have to take your camera into a place like Radio Shack and have them help you pick the right one for your camera ... I am surprised that HP does not have them for sale on their site.
