HP iPAQ rz1700 Pocket PC series ....... help please?

Question

i have an HP iPAQ rz1700 Pocket PC series which was given to me, i also have the usb cable that conencts to the computer and chages it. I dont have the cd or anything. When i went to buy the charger the guy that sold me the charger tested it before and the pda turned on and showed a display of a battery (it was charging). Then i took it home and i connect it to the computer but the thing will not turn on or charge. Someone please help me.

Have you tried:

1. a Soft reset.

2. a Hard reset, IF you have a backup, or didn't put much on the PDA.  If nothing else works try it even if you don't have a backup.

3. Contacting the person that sold you the charger?

4. Checking the battery.

I'm not sure what would be on the CD.  However, you can get Activesync from the MS website for free.  Probably it also came with MS Outlook.  That way you can sync your phone list, calendar, and tasklist to your PC.
