HP iPaq hx2190b won't turn on - what to do?

I have an HP iPaq hx2190b. Charged up to 100% battery power, I can turn it off using the power button, but then cannot turn it back on using the power button. If I want the unit on, I have to connect it to the syncing cradle. Any idea what's going on here and how I can convince it to respond to use of the power button?

Have you tried the any of the other buttons?  A lot will turn on with the calender, task, home, or phone book buttons.  It is also possible that the battery is just dead.  Does the PDA stay on when it is removed from the cradle?  Also, you can try backing up your PDA, and doing a hard reset.
