HP laptop zv5000 will not boot.

Question

Two distinct warnings: a fast, continuous beeping and BOOTMGR is missing. I have purchased this laptop from a co-worker who said when he went to ''clean up'' the hard drive after our deployment he may have deleted to much. I bought the proper XP recover cd/dvd from HP but it will not boot from the cd drive. When I force it to, it says that it also has a memory overflow error. Using ''r'' to open up recover doesn't work at all.I have one sick computer on my hands.
