HP w2207h Widescreen lcd monitor sound not working?

When I go into "Change system sounds" in the control panel (vista) and test the sound it works fine. Both speakers sound perfect. But when I go to play a game or music or even fiddle with the sound mixer there is no sound. I've checked all the cords and everything is plugged in as instructed. Am I just missing something? If you need more details please post or email.

  1. 1. Check to see if the volume issues are only with a few programs or many others. If the volume is adequate using another software program, the issue is with the computer, not the monitor.

    2. Try adjusting the volume higher using the front-panel volume buttons. Using the buttons on the monitor, navigate through the onscreen display (OSD) menu to find audio or speaker settings and adjust the volume up.

  2. just check

bottom left hand ~there should be a speaker icon~click on it and check it is not muted.if it is click to un mute it.

in "control panel " click ~start ~control panel

check "realtek hd audio manager" there are some slides for volume make sure they are not on lowest setting.

while in control panel check "sound"also for volume controls.

if this does not do it ~

go on the web and try these 2 sites

    "it's vista"

    "vista4beginners"

your answer may be on there.

    hope this helps
