HPT results????? I dont get it!!?

Question

My husband and I have been trying to concieve, I bought a hpt and took it today. My period isnt due until the 26th so i figured i might get an answer. I bought ANSWer the five day sooner pregnacy test. Well I took it a little while ago the negative line showed up and nothing else. I just went a few mins ago and look at the test and there is a VERY faint second line. Could I be pregnant or what I know you arent suppose to read the test after so long but why would a second line show up unless it detected the hcg hormone? I took another test a few mins ago and it was negative again?? Im so fustrated has this ever happened to anyone and the really ended up being pregnant? I quess I just have to wait a few more days tore my period :( any input would be appreciated! thank you for your time!!

Some brands of test do come up with a false positive after 10 Min's it says in the instructions,

If you read the test even though they claim to be able to pick up HCG 5 days early its always best to test after your missed period

Sorry, but those kinds of pregnancy tests will often show up positive if left for more than 5 minutes.  It will say this somewhere on the box or in the directions.  Good luck though!

is sounds like you need to take another one hun to out your mind at ease. if its any comfort I took ten tests over ten days and the lines got darker each day. Im now just coming up to 19 weeks pregnant. fingers crossed for you and make sure you use early morning pee to get a concentrated result or wait a few more days

If you read the instructions they tell you after take the test sit it down and look at it after three to five minutes. By then  prositive line show up that means you pregnant if then no line then you not pregnant..

A faint second line is usually positive. Don't mess with the HPT's anymore- go to you doctor or  family planning agency and get results form them. If you have financial challenges or no insurance- many family planning agencies test for free.

After 10 minutes you can get an evaporation line, which does not mean pregnant. That is why you should not view the test after the alloted time frame. Good luck!!

I think the directions say not to look at it after 48 hours.

Usually a positive result will show up immediately once the urine passes through to the test window.  There is a window of time to check the test.  If you wait longer than 10 minutes, you may see a faint or even pronounced second line.  This does NOT mean you are pregnant.  This happens to all tests (positive and negative results) no matter what the result.  Both lines become more prominent as time goes by.....

I'm not saying you're not pregnant, you may be, but I'd wait a few more days and test again, making sure to view the stick within the time frame and then discarding it.
