Question:

HPV & the Morning After Pill?

If you have HPV, is it bad to take the morning after pill? I read that it can increase your chances of getting cervical cancer. But if the MAP is just a concentrated dose of birth control, then wouldn't birth control increase your chances of cervical cancer?

I was just wondering how big the risk was & if taking the MAP will inflame the already existing HPV...

  1. The morning after pill has nothing to do with HPV. If you need the morning after pill then take it. HPV increases the chance of your getting cervical cancer. For this reason, you need to treat your body well, get enough sleep, and eat well so your body can fight off the HPV.
