HRT aims qualifying improvements in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
HRT team principal, Luis Perez-Sala has said that they are aiming to improve their qualifying pace in the 2012 Formula 1 season ahead so as to score some reasonable points in the championship fight.
The Madrid based team had the toughest pre-season this year as they could hardly assess their car for making the essential advancements. Moreover, they have been unable to score any points in the first eleven grands prix and have struggled during the qualifying
of most of the races.
It is to be noted that their pair of drivers, Narain Karthikeyan and Pedro de la Rosa failed to set the time within the range of 107% during the qualifying of the season opener. Additionally, they have not been able to qualify for the second session until
now.
Nonetheless, Perez-Sala has recently said that are trying their best to improve the pace of their car for the season ahead. Furthermore, he said that they will be working hard on their aerodynamic design during the summer break and hope to come up stronger
in the remaining nine races.
In addition, he said that their main target is to be able to qualify between 104 and 105% in the forthcoming races. He also said that even though they have very less time to make the significant preparations for the upcoming races, however, they will push
hard to achieve what they intend to in the forthcoming races.
“For me it would be a success to maintain the reliability we have and improve our performance a little bit more. To achieve this I hope that the aero package that we will introduce after the summer will help us to take the next step. The objective is to
stay between the 104 and 105% and have project for 2013 prepared. If we achieve all of this I'd be satisfied. Besides I hope that the team is fully functioning, with the design and aerodynamics department working at the Caja Mágica, although to achieve this
we need a bit more time,” he said.
Above and beyond, it will be interesting to see how they show up in the Belgian GP and the next nine races after this year’s summer smash.
