HRT driver Vitantonio Liuzzi looking forward to the legendary Nurburgring track – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing Team driver Vitantonio Liuzzi has said that he is hoping for the best possible results at this coming weekend’s German Grand Prix as the race is going to be hosted at one of his favourite circuits.
“I like the fact that it is still an old fashioned track with a lot of history and its mix of speed and technical aspects. Rain is always a threat here, but I would like a bit of rain to be able to capitalise on our chances. I have a good record on this
track as well as good memories and podium experience,” he said.
He added that he loves racing on the circuit because it is very challenging and is an old-fashioned track.
HRT are currently the worst team of the 2011 Formula 1 season statistically as they have not been able to cope up with either Team Lotus or Virgin Racing Team who are apparently their closest rivals.
VRT and Team Lotus have been performing much better comparatively as both of them have improved their respective cars throughout the season as a result of which they have been scoring some pretty good results.
HRT on the other hand are in another world but they are hoping of making some major improvements to their respective cars in order to perform at their best and probably finish ahead of VRT at the upcoming German Grand Prix.
“Our goal is to try to finish the race again ahead of the Virgin team. We need to push harder and to progress,” said Liuzzi.
The team principal Colin Kolles stated that the team is going to try its best to enable both of its drivers to finish the race once again as they managed to do so at the British Grand Prix. He claims that the team is aware of its car’s pros and cons and
they are now improving the pace quite consistently.
The upcoming race is going to be quite challenging and unpredictable for the Formula 1 teams due to the track and weather conditions.
