HRT driver Vitantonio Liuzzi says Monza could be a tricky race weekend – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing Team driver Vitantonio Liuzzi has said that Monza could be a tricky weekend in terms of racing.
Liuzzi added that he really wants to do well at Monza, as he will race in front of his home crowd. The Italian Grand Prix will be held on September 11, 2011 at the Monza racetrack.
He also mentioned that he wants to make the Italian race weekend special for his fans by showing his better performance during his home grand prix.
The Italian driver is going to take part in the upcoming Monza race for the fifth time in his career. He stated that he is always looking forward to race at the Monza racetrack in a decent manner.
Talking to reporters, Liuzzi said, “To race at the home Grand Prix for a driver always gives mixed emotions. And if it’s at Monza, it’s true that it will be even more satisfying. I want this Grand Prix to become a special event for my fans and I have prepared
a special surprise for them.”
The 30-year-old driver further added that the Monza race will be a challenging race for the 2011 F1 drivers due to the nature of the track.
He went on to add, “Drivers have to be careful at the first chicane after the start finish line, as it can lead to contact with a competitor or a trip over the kerbs. At the same time we need to achieve the highest speed possible at the exit of the corners
to make up positions.”
The Hispania Racing Team driver is still unable to impress his team in the 2011 Formula 1 season after a positive Canadian Grand Prix. He made a lot of struggle for his best finish in Canada with his F111 car and came at the 13th position
in the final race classifications.
In the Belgium Grand Prix, Liuzzi finished his run at the 19th place after starting from the 22nd position on the Spa-Francorchamps grid.
Let’s see how he manages his home grand prix in Italy this weekend.
