HRT plan updates for 2012 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
HRT team principal, Luis Perez-Sala has said that they are planning to come up with an updated car in the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix after the next two races.
The Madrid based team has not been able to pocket even a single point in the current season so far. Moreover, they had the most difficult pre-season this year as they could not test their car properly so as to make the essential developments in order to
compete well in the races.
Nevertheless, Perez-Sala said that they are looking forward to show up stronger in the forthcoming races and have planned to launch an important update in the Singapore GP which will hopefully increase their performance. Furthermore, he said that they have
delayed their update package as being a small team they can’t afford it at present.
“We have some upgrades prepared for the Singapore Grand Prix. As a small team we can't afford small upgrades every two or three races because the cost of an upgrade or creating a new piece for a small upgrade is very high,” Perez-Sala said.
In addition, he said that their aim is to increase their car’s downforce and for that they are making the best of the efforts to modify the aerodynamic design. Above and beyond, he said that although they have very less time to make the necessary advancement,
nevertheless, they are hoping that their updates will provide them the desired results in the season ahead.
“Besides the aerodynamic study, you have to produce the parts and that also implies a lot of time. So we have to make the most of any changes and have a very clear idea of the direction we want to take for those upgrades to be productive,” he added.
It is to be noted that HRT have faced immense difficulties during the qualifying of many races, however, they are expecting to improve their pace so as to secure higher grid positions to score some reasonable points in the next nine races after the summer
break.
Let’s see whether they will be able to score points in the approaching races or not.
