HRT’s Vitantonio Liuzzi confident his team will do well despite loss of Geoff Willis – Formula 1
Hispania Racing Team driver Vitantonio Liuzzi is confident that his team has a bright future despite the team’s technical director Geoff Willis being ousted.
He does agree that with Geoff being ousted from the team in favour of former Honda/Brawn technical director Jorg Zander, there might be a little to lose, however looking at the bigger picture, the team has some really competent people who will surely be
a great resource for their better future.
While speaking to Autosport.com, he said,” It's a shame that we lost Geoff because I was working well with him. But the team principal [Colin Kolles] has got a clear picture in his head and I am confident that it is the right plan.”
Liuzzi is happy to see the positive steps that have been planned for the team’s development for the 2012 season.
He is a strong proponent of Kolles’ management style and appreciates the efforts he has taken for the growth and technological development of the team so far. He feels that with Kolles around the team will continue to grow and keep producing results.
Liuzzi is optimistic about the new investments that have taken place recently as he feels it is good to have new people coming in with fresh ideas and better resources.
The 30-year-old Italian said, “The new owners have strong ideas about the future, so that makes me feel positive. Because it is always better to have owners that want to invest and push the team forward.”
Liuzzi added, “This is a circus where people come and go pretty quickly, it's the same for drivers and for engineers. I'm sure that the team is facing a brighter future.”
The team’s owner Thesan Capital has some really great plans for the team for the upcoming season and hence Liuzzi, who will remain with the team in 2012, is hopeful that his team will fare well in the new season.
