HSG test did not work....has this happened to anyone else.?

I had an hsg test done to check up after an ectopic pregnancy that I had after a year of ttc and they could not get the dye to go into my uterus and tubes. They said that my cervix was too tight or something like that and it would not let the dye go in. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? Did the reason why the HSG test didn't work be the same reason why we've been ttc for so long? We've been trying since April 2007. Let me know if you know anything about this and your experiences. Thanks.

  1. I went in at the end of May to have my HSG test done.  The technician tried 3 times to get the catheter in but was unable to.  He said he would need an obgyn to come and do it for me. I went in the next cycle and was able to have it done successfully.  Mine was very painful however showed no blockages.

They should've told you when you left what the next step would be.  It could merely be a matter of needing to try again next cycle with a specialist.
