hey, i'm creating a website, a sort of youtube like website as a school experiment.

i use ADOBE DREAMWEAVER/ TEXT EDIT on a Macbook.

i want people over the net to post/submit there own videos/files etc.. on my site but, how do you add an uploading file form for posting videos, and can you automatically have your uploaded files placed in a fixed position..

and i'm a little confused how you upload your website online, if i buy a domain, how would i be able to post my website directly from my macbook on the web.

  1. Sounds like you're a beginner. Maybe you shouldn't have tried a project like this before you had some experience.

If you already know a little about HTML and maybe some PHP, you're in luck. The best way for you to upload files is with a PHP uploader script [ http://www.tizag.com/phpT/fileupload.php ].

If you buy a domain, make sure it comes with file hosting (most services do). Once your domain is bought, go to the file manager, and there should be an area to upload files. It maybe slower to upload the files one-by-one, rather than to create your whole site on the online hosting.

Make sure when you buy your domain, it comes with PHP enabled. Another issue may be that you won't have enough space on your site, depending on how much you want to spend. It depends on how large your site will be. If it's just a school project, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Good luck on your project, hope you make an A+ :)
