i felt so bad for A. Rodgers he's been tossed around more than a football saying yeah dude you are starting for the NFL Packers woo hoo - no wait favre is coming back, yeah you are the QB again, No wait Favre is back. Favre, leave Green Bay for good - and maybe come to my team - another Bay...tampa bay :-) I would feel bad for Garcia in a sense but he has been backup ( and succeeded greatly when McNabb got hurt in Philly ) I really love Simms, but know he is not 100 percent to be a starter in sense but I would be majorly upset if they traded a lot of good people for Favre. could be great, could go terribly wrong. what do you other fellow bucs fans think? 1. Don't feel bad for Rodgers, he's a big boy, he's an NFL QB, he's not always going to get his way. You may be excited, but the Bucs and their fans are gonna have to go through this all over again next year when he can't decide if he wants to retire or play again.

  2. I think right now, the Bucs could use just about all the talent they can get a QB, unless they start Garcia.  I think Garcia is better than Favre, and also he has at least a couple of years left, but you can never be sure about Favre.

  3. usually it takes two weeks or more before someone write anything about the bucs.

  4. I'm a Raider fan but I will say this; yes it's a terrible thing they're doing to A. Rodgers because, I think that when Brett Favre got in front of the camera and looked strikingly convincing that he was really done with the game of football; ended up just being the end of the season wear and tear really talking.

I feel bad for Garcia because every team he goes to he exceeds expectations. Now if he's not involved in a trade to go elsewhere, he'll definitely opt out at the end of the season.

Brett is a great Quarterback, however, I wonder how long he plans to play. I truly think he has at least 3 good years left in him. Hopefully, the Buccaneers don't have to give up too much to get him. I honestly think he's chosen to come back because he had too much fun last season with Green Bay. However, this is a new team with different players, not saying that Tampa Bay isn't a good team it's just that I don't feel the chemistry is going to be there like it was in Green bay so soon.

I do predict they will win the NFC South though, because the Falcons will only win 2 games unless they get DJ Shockley to play QB. The Panthers will be playing catch up all season long, because of Smith's suspension. New Orleans will have a pretty good season but fall short in wild card race.

  5. I don't think a trade will happen, if he would have been traded, it would have happened in late July. Here is why

1- Gruden runs a complicated offense totally different from Green Bay. It takes longer than a month to digest a whole new offensive system and playbook.

2- They run 2 different offensive schemes. The TB system relies on a strong running game and yards after catch by recievers. Garcia does not have a huge arm, so he runs a different system. Favre likes a system allowing him to frequently throw deep and they only use the run to compliment the pass.

But the main reason is that is takes a long time to digest a new playbook, longer than a month.

  6. I'm not sure why they would need him, but Gruden seems to like haveing 10 QB's around.  As a Packers fan this whole situation is pretty sh*tty.  If it did happen, Tampa would be the better fit then the NY because the offenses are more similar in that they are both westcost style.  I'm still hoping he just stays retired.

  7. i dont think Favre will perform as great as we all think.

Kinda like when somebody wants to know something, they make a big deal out of it, and then they're like...oh...that's it?

That sums up this hype situation.

  8. I do not think Favre is going to succeed where ever he goes he should just stay in Green Bay

  9. Packers fan here.

Favre is an amazing talent, but his receivers have always been pretty good.  He definitely will not be what he has been with the Packers.  The receiving cores on each team are totally different. Jennings, Driver, Jones, Hardy, Martin on the packers have a lot of firepower, size, and speed.

Joey Galloway is the only standout receiver on the Bucs.  Only time will tell, but he is a definite upgrade to Garcia.  He may throw more picks, but he will throw more TDs

  10. I think Garcia is better.

    Interceptions are huge.

  11. There is a lot of upside for the Bucs (or any other team that needs a

QB) to trading for Favre.  They would be getting a quarterback who was playing at pro-bowl caliber last year and the price for making the trade would almost certainly be cheap.  Mike McCarthy's news conference yesterday made it crystal clear that Favre won't be playing for the Packers this year.  All of the GMs in the league know this, so they have no incentive to trade a lot of draft picks for a guy who will have to be released if he can't be traded.  The Packers will be lucky to get a 3rd or 4th round pick for Favre.

It's true that Favre throws a lot of interceptions, but he also makes a lot of plays that nobody else in the NFL can make.  That translates directly into more wins for the team he's playing for.  Given a decent supporting cast Favre has shown he can lead his team at least into the playoffs and maybe farther.
