The #21 car got a sponsor for Bristol. Ok, not that big of news but what do you think is the biggest problem with that team?

  1. I think that income is the biggest problem with the Wood Brothers. It's sad to think that NASCAR teams are being handed over in part to big businesses. but I think that is what the Wood Brothers need to do! They simply don't have enough money to supply their drivers with top flight equipment. Would it be sad to see one of the last racing teams succumb to marketing: Certainly. But is it the right move for the organization...yes.

  2. the 21 car's had a sponsor for every race this year.

The biggest problem is Bill Elliott. He, like many other drivers we thought would always be legeends, has fallen victim to the changes of the CoT. Lately, NASCAR has become a big survival game. Kill or be killed. If you can't adapt, you die. Jeff Gordon, Dale jarrett, bill elliott, all of these legends have not been able to adapt to the CoT.

  3. yeah but who will drive it

i dont think ambrose is ready for that

  4. They got caught behind the times.

At one point they were the team that all NASCAR teams wanted to become. Heck, their pit crew was so good they were asked to pit a car in the Indy 500 (that won!). They also date back to an era where information was not shared between cars on your own team, let alone other teams. You always helped out your competition with loaning parts but never info. As that became the norm in NASCAR, they were left out.

Now with the move to NC and partnership with JTG racing hopefully they will soon show a strongly competitive side again. It was thrilling to see the 21 at the front at the Glen.

  5. their biggest problem most likely is that they are a single car operation and it's harder to get the funds to be able to do research and development, etc. ...back 20 and 30 years ago, it was possible to be a single car operation and succeed...that's not the case anymore

  6. thats nice because the wood brothers did not start out the season with much luck. the biggest problem with the team this year is in the first part of the year, qualifying to make a race and not they need a consistent driver. if they have some one who drives all the time and stop switching up drivers things might get better. i thought and still think marcus ambrose does and will do well in that car. I think he came in 3rd last week in the race.

  7. Well, that and some of the drivers that have been in that car. Kudos to Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center for their sponsorship for the night race at Bristol!

Greenbean-I think Awesome Bill is back in it this week. Ambrose has a ride lined up for next year, he was just helping the Wood Bros. out at the road course last week.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  8. Good news for the Wood brothers and the 21. I think the biggest problem is not being able to land a top notch driver that can drive and qualify for every race. I mean someone in there(One driver) for all 36 races. I mean who was really the last steady driver they had? Elliot Sadler & Ricky Rudd were.. Sadler got them a win at Bristol. Thats my opinion VP.
